5 out of 5 stars Best folding hunting knife.   March 7, 2010
Joseph D'Angelo (Washington DC)
This knife is indeed a work of art. The construction is as near perfect as you can get. The combination of the wood, brass and steel is truly beautiful to look at. The knife feels heavy yet balanced in the hand, yet its weight is just right for the job it was intended for, (a hunting knife). I inspected it under a very bright LED flashlight with 4X magnified reading glasses and could find no discernible imperfections. The blade is near razer sharp and I would be very careful handling it, you could cut your self. The opening, closing and locking of the knife is stiff at first and needs to be worked in. I would never try to open and/or close this knife with just one hand, it has a strong and stiff spring action to it and the blade locks in place very well. I would get to know the knife, try using it for simple cutting jobs at first until you get the feel of it. All in all, this is my favorite folding knife. I plan to keep it in the family for as long as possible. With proper care this knife should last for well over 100 years. (Foot Note: For the price I paid (just under $40 US Dollars) it's a great knife. At any price it's a great knife, enjoy... Buck 110 Folding Hunter, Lockback Folding Knife

5 out of 5 stars Solid Product   January 23, 2010
Top Cat (Media, PA)
I ordered the 110 Folding to replace a Buck knife I'd lost. I've used it for several months now and, in my opinion, this is a quality knife that is typical of Buck products. The knife feels comfortable and stable in the hand. The lock is solid and it seems durable and well constructed. Incidentally, I owned my last Buck (not folding)from 1975 to 2009 and used heavily during many hunting and camping seasons. I lost it in the woods last year and I'd bet that if I could find it after a year in the woods it would still be in great condition. I'm sure that knife would have lasted another 30 years easily. I've had not real issues with the edge on this one - if you use it for what it's made for you'll need to touch it up on a hone or perhaps a stone now and then. I've found that a few strokes brings the edge back nicely. Of course, I don't dig roots or cut screws with it. Highly Recommended.

5 out of 5 stars Will last a life time   January 5, 2010
Reginald Kenneth Dwight
I got this knife as a gift from General Motors back in 1993 for buying my first new car. It makes a perfect gift for just about anyone. It still acts like new after 17 years of use. Just make sure to sharpen it at least once a year. I mostly use mine for opening containers and whittling wood.My 110 knife came with a black leather sheath which is a plus as nowdays they are being shipped with a cheap nylon sheath. The knife is just under 5 inches closed. It has brass bolsters on both ends which may become subdued over time so you will need to polish those if you want to keep it looking "sharp". This knife will last a lifetime as long as you give it at least 10 minutes a year maintenance.

5 out of 5 stars Incredible Quality - And Still Made in the USA   December 31, 2009
T. Miller (Asheville, NC)
While nothing fancy or pretty to look at, this knife is the most practical and solid-built pocket knife available. The quality of this knife puts all others to shame. Once you open it and hold it in your hand the first time you know just how much Buck got it right with this one. It's heavy, built solid enough for any task, beautifully balanced, razor sharp out of the pack, and holds an edge like no other. I have owned many knives over the years and none have come close to this. I treasure it above all others and will never do without a Buck 110 as long as they keep making them like this. If it matters to you, this knife is made right here in the good ol' USA. If you don't mind carrying a knife that is a bit heavier and maybe a little larger than you are used to, you will not be disappointed with this one. Highly recommended.
